Covid 19 Motel Policy & Information

YES!  We are open and are welcoming bookings from ALL guests.  We have missed you and cannot wait to see both familiar and new faces at our motel.

While restrictions have now been sustantially eased in Victoria, we are still far from being back to where we were pre COVID-19.

We want to assure our guests that we take your health, and our own, incredibly seriously. We continue to monitor updates regarding Covid-19 from the appropriate Government websites, the World Health Organisation and our Industry Partners. We constantly strive to adopt best business practices. Our business owners have completed an Australian Government Department of Health eLearning course in Infection Control Training – Covid19. We also stay abreast of best industry practices via regular Victorian Accommodation Operator Briefings and other industry news forums.  

Our housekeeping team have undergone comprehensive training on Covid Safe practices. You will see a number of changes across our property – both in our rooms and in our Reception area. Our cleaning functions are at a heightened level to keep us, and you, as safe as we possibly can and all “high touch” areas are thoroughly sanitised regularly.

Unfortunately, some of our services are still restricted:

For the remainder of 2020, we will be offering continental breakfast only.  We apologise in advance to those guests who look forward to our cooked breakfasts.

Our swimming pool has now re-opened for the 2020/2021 season.  We have to enforce the 4m2 rule which means a maximum of 12 people are permitted in the pool enclosure at any one time.

Our housekeeping service has been limited for multi-night stays of less than 3 nights.  We want to ensure the health and wellbeing of our guests and our staff at all times, and limiting contact is the best way to do this.  We will continue to adhere to our industry recommendations and hope to return to our normal daily housekeeping service once restrictions are further eased.


What we ask of our guests:

For the health and welfare of the owners, our staff, and other guests of Junction Motel, Maryborough we will require:

  • Please use the automated hand sanitiser BEFORE entering Reception
  • ONE guests only is permitted in Reception at any one time
  • FACE MASKS/COVERINGS must be worn at all times when in Reception AND in common areas of the motel (including carpark and verandah ways).  The only time guests will be excused from wearing a mask is when they are inside guest rooms, and when outside having a cigarette.  No other exceptions apply at this stage.
  • Guests will be temperature checked on arrival
  • All registered guests must complete a pre-check in Covid Safe form. This form will request contact tracing information for each and every guest, in addition to asking guests to verify their own health and declare any direct/indirect exposure they may have had to Covid-19.
  • If any guest arrives to check in and is unwell, we may excuse that guest and any accompanying persons from staying at our motel.
  • We ask that all guests continually practice the appropriate level of personal hygiene:
    • Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water, and often.
    • Use hand sanitiser.
    • Cough/sneeze into you elbow
    • If you are unwell, please say home! Do not travel. We will understand if you need to cancel at the last minute.

 The future of our business may well be dependent on you and your health!
